ootd | The ZARA skort

H&M jacket, ZARA skort, ZARA white sweater, H&M ankle boots
Now that 2013 is nearly ending, you have to make it count right? So when I saw 'the' Zara skort on sale I knew I had to buy it, because it was probably one of the fashion spring/summer trends of 2013. I don't even really remember who I've seen wearing it first, all I remember is that suddenly every girl wanted that skort. And I must confess I first didn't really wanted to give in but bloggers like SincerelyJules made it hard for me. For those who don't know what I'm talking about, these Zara skorts. That's probably why Zara decided to reintroduce the skort for the fall/winter collection 2013, since it was such a success. I like that instead of making it in a plain fall colour, they added the grey pinstripe model. Perfect for the fall/winter days.

Did you fell for the 'skort' trend? And what is your favourite fashion trend of 2013? Leave it in the comment box! I'd like to hear your opinion.

ootd | Lacey slip dress

H&M coat, H&M laced slip dress, Costes panty, H&M heel boots
Today I'm wearing my new H&M laced slip dress, see previous post, which I was so excited about since it was on sale. Unfortunately it was too oversized, so I buckled it and tucked the dress over it so you won't see the belt. It ended up fine but still a bit bummed. Same goes for the H&M boots I bought. I've read that it runs a size small, but it turns out now that I shouldn't have bought a size bigger.. Still wearable though but such an annoyance. Anyway, didn't realise that it would be such a H&M look but it's perfect for a small gettogether before NYE. Have a nice day!

ootd | Merry Christmas!

Merry christmas to those who celebrates it! I was planning to post this sooner but due to the busy times with work and going to church, I wasn't able to do so. But here are two looks with the items of my previous post. Not my favourite looks but the items and the weather made it hard to style. The first look is more for daytime and the second nighttime. Anyway, I'm going to stuff my belly with food and will be showing my outfit of today in tomorrow's post.  Happy holidays!

SNEAK PEAK | It's the most sparkly time of the year

Club L sequined bra, H&M sequined cropped back, ZARA sequined crop top.
It's that time of the year again.. Food, family and parties. And it's that time of the year where there's no limitation on the amount glitters, sparkles and sequins you can wear (at least according to me). But because of the festivities, we tend to spend (even) more money, I already have at least 4 christmas dinners to attend to and don't forget New Years Eve! So to save me some money, I dug up some old pieces from my closet that has festive potentials.

The question is.. How am I going to wear/style it? I will create three different looks for each item this coming week. So stay tuned! Challenge accepted.

Haul | Have a nice H&M winter proof holidays!

When was the last thing you've done something absolutely for yourself? Something you like to do in your spare time. Being an 'Industrial Design' and now also a Retail Design student, I get to do what I like ever since I was a little girl, which is to draw and sketch most of the time. I remember being in primary school that when we were allowed to do something we'd like, I'd always grab my pencil and paper ( Confession: Most of the drawings were 'Pokemon' related, I was obsessed with it ). But it's not the same anymore. I can hardly remember a time where I get to draw just for fun. So when I got out of uni and get to celebrate my winter holiday, I grabbed my tablet pen and played with it for a while. I've never drew with it before so it was nice to be doing something new and that I liked.

Anyway, I combined my drawings with the things I bought on H&M for the winter sale. I can't wait for the package to arrive! I've wanted to try the lace dress ever since I saw it on the Zara autumn/winter lookbook but am afraid that it would look too much as a nightgown.. We'll see about that. And it seems that I can't keep my hands off anything chelsea boot'ish. I probably own too much of similar boots already but this time it's real leather, so I hope it's worth it. The striped shirt would be nice to wear for some casual yet chic (when tucked in) look. The last item is a 'long black blazer' that I think would be handy for the holidays. And I got this ALL on sale! So go on to their site and I hope that you can find many great things like I did.

Christmas gift tip | Grow a beard

This particular month and time of the year is about giving and receiving gifts. What's better than giving your beloved warmth and the opportunity to look like a 'hipster'? Nothing right? So this 'beanie-beard' (yes, it's what they're really called) is the perfect christmas gift, especially when you're in the colder area of the earth at this time of the year or you can even wear it when you want to hide that zit on your chin. And the best thing is they're unisex. I like to wear mine when I'm biking to uni, which is almost unbearably cold already, to keep my face warm.

You can buy this at "Flying Tiger", which is an awesome shop full of gimmicks and fun stuff. You can check their website here.

Don't you think it's awesome?

ootd | Preparing for new beginnings

H&M leather jacket, New Look cropped sweater, Primark midiskirt, Converse shoes, Flying Tiger tote bag
I can't believe how fast the last few months have gone by. Before you know it, it's time to celebrate christmas already and set up the fireworks. I'm excited to leave 2013 and start a new year with new beginnings and a fresh attitude. 2013 has been a real PMS bugger to me with its ups and downs and am ready to close this chapter. Anyway, I'm wearing another midi skirt today, because the weather is actually quite nice and paired it with an old cropped sweater from New Look.

ootd | Less per-suede-sion needed

Pimkie scarf, thrifted black suede skirt, H&M jacket, Nike janoski shoes
I've decided to join the gym again after such a long time, but this time with some more routine and dedication to it. I'm liking it and feeling great so far. It helps me put out my frustrations of my project for school. Less persuasion needed. The outfit I'm wearing was not intended to just go to the gym but for some brunch in the city as well. And I got to wear my thrifted black suede skirt. I've been wanting to wear a knee length (midi) skirt for quite some time now and this item certainly didn't disappoint me. I just love the suede material of it. Such a skirt is so versatile, you can either dress it up by wearing heels or dress it down with some sneakers and sweater. I can't wait to wear it more often!

*Unexpected update!*
While procrastinating and doing pretty much everything else except for working on my project, I came up with a new header! Do you like it? I'm planning to slowly update the rest of the layout throughout the day as well so stay tuned!

ootd | First week of december

H&M polka sweater, Primark coat, H&M high waisted jeans, H&M ankle boots
Lot have been going on the last few days.. I dyed my hair back to one color (golden stars for those who noticed it right away). On saturday, I went to a christmas market in Munster,Germany where I mostly been eating calories-boms, I will do another post solely on this. And on sunday I went to a vintage kilo sale for the first time with my friend Roz. It wasn't anything big and I didn't really plan on buying something until I saw this suede leather skirt that goes right above my knees and a cute crochet crop top, which were never worn. All for 9 euros. Can't beat that right?

I got this polkadot sweater I think last year and am so bumped that I bought it a size too big. I like the sweater to be a bit oversized but not too much. And this item is right on the borderline. Nonetheless it's still comfy as ever and hold enough heat for me to be walking in this autumn weather. I went to Primark the other day and found this coat, which is actually too thin to be called a 'coat', on sale. I promised myself not to buy a coat anymore, I mean what is this 99problems post about. But I knew that I would have a great wear out of it, so I couldn't help myself. What can I say.. I'm a sucker for anything on discount.

Personal | My latest addiction is Emma approved!

Aside from my interest in fashion, foods and design, I love literature. I love reading all kinds of books but most of all reading sappy love stories with awesome heroes and heroins and just get lost in their world. I can talk for hours about my favourite books. But when it comes to classics that every girl must have read at least once in their lifetime, the books by Jane Austen will win hands down. My favourite books from Jane are Pride & prejudice (of course), Mansfield park and Emma. The heroines are so badass and have a strong/independent personality which at that specific time area were rare. The most controversial character is probably Emma and definitely my favourite gal. I've probably watched and read all adaptations of the book and thought that it couldn't get better than Mr. Knightley being played by Jonny Lee Miller and the movie 'Clueless'.. I am happy to be wrong and add this new so called 'webseries', Emma approved, to the list.

Emma approved is not like other series you know. It's a series on Youtube with 5 minutes lasting episodes. In this series you see Emma shooting a documentary to document her 'greatness', yes she's that conceited ghehe, by doing vlogs. So most of the times you see her talking to the camera with occasionally other people passing by. It took some time to get used to it, but the actors made it all so easy. In this modern adaptation, you see Emma Woodhouse running a matchmaking business with Alex Knightley doing the 'boring' stuff. Emma is vain, full of herself, rich and spoilt which makes her hard to like but beneath it all she has a good heart. And a lot of people who watch it don't really like her.. But that's how she's supposed to be (according to the books) and I think
Joanna Sotomura who plays Emma does a wonderful job at it. I love her facial expressions and her winks. And Brent Bailey takes Mr. Knightley to a whole new level of hottie.

Overall I just love this series and I couldn't wait to share it with you guys! I'm planning to watch 'The Lizzie Bennet Diary' from the same producers as Emma approved as well which has won an Emmy!

Haul | 99 problems but a coat ain't one

Finally got some time to post my 99problems post, this time with some recently bought coats/vest or jackets. I seriously don't know how I got to this point where I bought all this. I couldn't resist the 'temporarily' H&M sale on the two pieces from the top. And I love how versatile and awesome the faux fur vest it. It can make an outfit 10 times more interesting! Definitely recommend this one. It's a bit longer than the one I already have. Considering buying one of these coats? All H&M coats/jackets are a bit bulky/oversized. So going a size down is definitely worth it.

ootd | Hunger games and Victor Navorski

Last tuesday I went to the Hunger Games marathon at the cinema, they showed the first part followed by the latest one to premiere. The marathon ended at 02:30AM but it was so worth it. I've read the books before the first part was out, so I am quite a 'fan' of the books. I won't spoil the movie for anybody, because I think that's really one of the worst things you can do to a person. But they really did a great job (yet again) at filming it and it really didn't feel like I was watching something for more than 2 hours. So it's definitely worth to check it out! Also if you like reading, try the books as well.

As for my outfit, I wore this new skirt from H&M which got all wrinkled up (sorry about that) and paired it with my plaid blouse from Zara. The coat is from Zara that I got just recently on sale I think it was 30euros. But thanks to my brother I keep seeing Victor Navorski from The Terminal, which I've watched more than six times already because I just love the movie, when I'm wearing this coat. And he's not even wearing one in the movie! You can only see him in his suit most of the time. Although I love the movie, I don't really know if I want to be associated with it.

Anyway, this coat is one of a few coats/jackets I got recently.. A bit of ashamed. But at least you guys can look forward to a '99 problems' post soon.

DIY project | Plumbing pipes table/bench

I had to make this bench/table for my project which didn't quite work out, so I made it into a bench for in my room where I can sit and put on my shoes or just for decoration. I had a lot of fun making this and it's so easy! All you need is a pipesaw or just a regular metal saw, the compression fittings, some wood and the pipes. I haven't attached the wood onto the pipes yet because I'm planning to make the table shorter. But you can get the general idea here.

What do you think? A good idea for a future DIY post?

ootd | When it doesn't make the cut.

H&M long blazer, Primark flower blouse, H&M shorts, H&M ankle boots, H&M maroon bag
School has taken over my life.. And because the daylight savings time, I don't have enough natural light to take proper pictures when I get back home from uni. Thank god for outfit pictures that didn't make the post, so that I can use it for times like these.. The outfit that I'm wearing was from early november. I wouldn't suggest wearing it now though, it's getting colder and colder, I already got my hand gloves out from the closet.

Although school has been taking so much of my free time and basically got me tied up at home, I still managed to do my driving exam and passed it! So maybe things will look up from now :)
Have a nice weekend! Do you have anything planned?

ootd | A boyfriend jeans kind of day

H&M jacket, H&M blue gray shirt, H&M boyfriend jeans, River Island suede heels
Sister: "Why are you taking pictures? You're always wearing that.."
Me: *Disappointed*

Sometimes when I really want to dress up and put on awesome outfits, I don't feel inspired. I guess the best outfits come when you don't search for it. And it's not only about putting on outfits but in life general. Just like when you see a trailer of a movie and you get excited for it and when you've seen it, it just falls flat and you get disappointed (talking about Gravity) but when you don't have expectations, everything is way better. Anyone knows that feeling?
