VIDEO | Dutch design week 15

About a week ago I went to the Dutch Design Week. Each year product designers, photographers, artists showcase their work at this event. The event is held throughout Eindhoven, a city known for technology and creativity, a week long. You can follow workshops and listen to lectures for all things design and future trends. I like to see other people's work and get inspired by it and just be around people who appreciate it as well. I was quite surprised seeing so many people strolling around. It made me also aware of how much I actually miss studying Industrial Design. 

Out of everything I've seen (Unfortunately I didn't get to see everything because of lack of time) my favourite product must be the 3D to 2D foldable chair by Jong Ha Choi a graduate of the Design Academy Eindhoven. It's so simple yet so brilliant. I didn't get to film the folding process but by folding the chair you can basically put the chair like a 2D picture on the wall. This means more chairs in smaller spaces. This boy is going places.

At an industrial building I found 'Shylights' by Studio Drift. It's probably the most amazing thing I've ever seen with my eyes. After seeing this video about Shylights, it made me love it even more. It almost brought me to tears when the lamp unfolded, no joke. I could seriously watch it over and over again. Like seriously every piece they make is a piece of art and has a story to tell.

I'm so bummed out I didn't get to see more stuff, it is also almost a 2 hour ride with the train so it's not that I can go and take off to Eindhoven. Next year I definitely have to plan 2 days for the event!

EVENT | Three fashionistas at the HuisHoudBeurs 2015

This post is probably a few weeks due, but I've been MIA on the blog for a while, because I had to have some stitches and it took some while to recover from it. It wasn't anything serious, but it took me out of my daily rhythm which kinda sucks. But all is well and I'm back with a new post.

A few weeks ago I went to the annual Huishoudbeurs in Amsterdam. They invited me as press to share my experience with the  the their  It's a walhalla for housewives but also women who like to get some great deals on beauty, fashion and home/interior products. Unlike last year I was prepared for the mass of people and what to expect there. Last year I did a post on what you can do at the huishoudbeurs and what I bought, but since the products that are offered are pretty much the same as previous year, I thought to do a different post this year. So here's a post with the best dressed girls at the huishoudbeurs. 

The first girl is a friend of mine and of course the first girl I spotted. Sara wore this long waterfall blazer and combined it with some basic black crop top and ripped jeans. With it she wore some black Roshe's. I liked the feminine shape of the blazer and chained bag with the sporty and very convenient sneaker. Something I would definitely wear myself.

Second girl is named Shirin, she was working at the fair but still manage to look spot on. Her outfit is actually quite similar to Sara's, but I like how she wore suit pants instead of the jeans sara wore. Also you cannot miss the white sneaker trend that is everywhere at the moment. The Nike air max which Shirin is wearing is probably one of my fave white sneakers. (Even with a bit of dirt on it)






The last girl I spotted is Anne. Anne is wearing all black which is always a good choice. The think I liked about this outfit is the layering. Even though all garments are in black, the different fabrics and textures creates more dimension to the outfit. You don't really see on the outfit picture but I like the knee long vest peeking out of the leather jacket.

There were more girls who were nicely dressed but with the busy crowd it was impossible to ask all of them for a picture, which is too bad! Maybe next year new girls can be featured.

LOOKS | Knee-boots in three ways

Fall's here and what better way to keep your toes warm with a pair of knee-boots?

A few days ago, I asked a friend (hi Sara) for some blog inspiration and she told me that it would be nice to do a pairing/three looks one item post. So I decided to go for it and pair these knee boots from Bershka. A video is coming this way as it's uploading at this very right moment, but can take a while so I put it in pictures as well. Without further a due, here are my three looks.

SNEAK PEAK | It's the most sparkly time of the year

Club L sequined bra, H&M sequined cropped back, ZARA sequined crop top.

It's that time of the year again.. Food, family and parties. And it's that time of the year where there's no limitation on the amount glitters,sparkles and sequins you can wear (at least according to me). But because of the festivities, we tend to spend (even) more money, I already have at least 4 christmas dinners to attend to and don't forget New Years Eve! So to save me some money, I dug up some old pieces from my closet that has festive potentials.

The question is.. How am I going to wear/style it? I will create three different looks for each item this coming week. So stay tuned! Challenge accepted.

Style appreciation: Rachel Bilson

Time for one of my Style Appreciation posts, this time dedicated to Rachel Bilson's awesome street style. Who doesn't like to wear just a plain tee and jeans? But sometimes you can look rather too casual and kind of boring.. except for Rachel. I don't know how she does it, but she manage to look chic and classy in just a plain shirt. I love her seemingly effortless street look. And how awesome is her shoes collection? Definitely a style I would like to go for! 

I just noticed how she wears sunglasses into all her outfits, especially the ones I chose for this post..

Ahh how I wish to have her wardrobe.

Style appreciation: Miroslava Duma

Miroslava Duma is probably one of the tiniest fashion icon I know. She is so petite! But her fashion sense is so classy/different/colorful in other words awesome. Here are some outfits that stood out for me.. and also appropriate for the weather at the moment. Prepare for autumn you guys!

Style appreciation: Olivia Palermo

You know that you've got it bad when you're staring at someone's hair at 5AM.. Talk about hair envy! In a previous post, I've already mentioned of wanting a new haircut and Olivia's the perfect example of how I really want it. And while I was looking through tumblr searching for her hair, you automatically see her awesome sene of style. If there's one closet I could borrow for one day, it's Palermo's. I love how she could match a designer's brand with just another item from Zara or H&M and how she looks so effortless put together. You'd probably know her as the 'fashion bitch' from The City, but really after seeing her in many interviews and other videos, I think she's really sweet. It was just an act she had to put on. Anyway, this is probably the haircut I want to get, it's not really short yet not long. So if you see me in a future post with completely different hair.. then you'd know that the trip to the hairdresser went bad.

PS.: Yesterday I went shopping and got a "few" items I'd like to show you! So stay tuned for that! I hope to post it asap.

Fashion inspiration | That winter, the wind blows

Finally, my first post of August! It took a while to post something properly mainly because I was hooked on not one but two kdramas.. For you guys who don't know what kdrama is, it's korean drama/tv series. If you're lucky the series will be around 16 episodes (45min-1hr), so that means that you'll most probably be a caveman for two days (cavemen days mean no sleeping to watch kdrama). So yeah this is what's going on in my life. Anyways, one of my kdrama called "That winter, the wind blow" started in february 2013 till somewhere april 2013, so the show had finished for quite some time now, but that doesn't mean that the fashion was not inspiring! While watching the show, I was looking forward to what the heroine would wear in that episode. As you can see from the pictures below, the girl wears a cane.. She can hella dress for a blind one. I really like her classic and neat style. It looks really put together. The looks are simpel and there's a lot of mono colors. This is probably the look I would go for when I'm a bit older!

INSPIRATION | Little people in the city

I still had a 20euro voucher for the American Book Center, since I'm kinda a cheapskate I usually buy books only if I know they are worth it, otherwise I just read them online (ebooks). And I find photography, illustrations books totally worth it. So I bought this funny book by an artist who take pictures of random things and put little toy people around it. It just bring joy into your daily life and make you see things you won't see. What if such little people really do exist and we're giants who constantly put them in danger? We're monsters.
