The Liebster award!

Jen from Charming Silence nominated me for the Liebster award! So what is it all about? It's a way for new bloggers to get their blog more noticed to the blogging community. And a fun way to add new blogs for your blog reading list!

The Rules:
1. You must link the blogger who nominated you
2. You must answer the 10 questions given to you by your nominee
3. You must choose 10 bloggers to be nominated for the award (under 200 followers)
4. You must come up with 10 questions for your nominees to answer
5. Once you have done this, you must go to their blogs & let them know you have nominated them

My answers to Jen's questions:
1. What is your dream vacation?
My dream vacation is to go to NYC and walk through central park and manhattan. Or San Francisco. I'm more of a city sightseeing person than a tropical beach person.

2. Are you a cat person or a dog person?
Can I be both? I don't consider myself as a huge animal lover, but I do melt when I see cats and dogs walking by. Especially the little furry ones. We have one cat named Kitty and a dog Shizy (sisi) the billionaire. The cat was actually a stray. He kept coming to our house and eventually we took him in, so the name was actually not intentional. We didn't choose the name for the dog as well, we were on a holiday in Indonesia and my mom couldn't leave this dog at the pet shop, so after a lot of tests and filling in papers Sisi was brought to the Netherlands.

3. Why did you start your blog?
When I was little I always liked to design websites at those free websitemakers for fun. It used to be dedicated to my favorite celebrities and later on it went to my favorite tv shows (korean dramas), kpop and everything korean, even their fashion. Currently I'm less obsessed with those things but gotten lot more focused on fashion and all things pretty, I guess I want to show the world  So I started this for fun actually :)

4. Where do you get fashion/beauty inspiration?
I mostly get inspiration from other bloggers and YouTubers. An easy way to get inspiration is Tumblr as well for more artsy stuff. Current favorite inspirations (just a few) are Jules from Sincerely Jules, Claire from HeyClaire, Aimee from Song of style, Stephanie & Melissa from The Fashion Citizen and Jen from Clothes Encounters.

5. What is one trend you hope never goes out of style?
Most definitely skinny jeans, another more trendy trend I wish never to go out of style is the high waist!

6. What is your go-to summer nail polish?
This summer I like to wear a white/pinkish color from The Face Shop.

7. What is your favorite splurge item (fashion or makeup)?
I currently don't have a favorite splurge item.. But if I have to choose than I'd choose my Arbor Skateboard.

8. Shoes or handbags?
I guess I have to choose shoes!

9. Who is your blogging inspiration?
My blogging inspirations are actually the same as my fashion/beauty inspirations..

10. Are you a tea or coffee drinker?
A chai tea latte doesn't count as a tea right? :P Then I'd have to choose for coffee, allthough I like to drink mint tea occasionally as well.

ootd | red dress

Asos red dress, H&M ankle boots, DIY studded belt

Feel like wearing dresses lately and this fresh pop of colored dress is my latest conquest. I don't know if I love it though, because the dress is shapeless and has a lot of fabric so I had to wear it with a belt which wasn't my intention to do when I bought it online. Oh well at least it has an eyecatching color!

OOTD | There's no failure except in no longer trying.

Tally crop shirt, H&M highwaist denim short, Vans shoes

The weather has been insane for the last few days. A heat wave was or still is occuring in the Netherlands. Fortunately I live close by the beach and am able to bike there. I done that five times in four days time and I'm pretty done with that now, so I'll be chilling with my dog and cruiser the last remaining days of the hot weather. Since it's summer break and all, I don't want to remind you of school/uni but I am so stressed out of it.. still. I just found out that I failed another exam by 0.3 points and that just sucks because it means that I have to study for my re-exam on the 14th of August. And that's not all that I'm worried about.. Next college year I'll have to redo 3 exams of this year, because I once again failed. It's just so frustrating that I'm so bad at taking tests and so easily distracted. I just had to get this out of my system and keep reminding myself that it could be worse but right now it's so damn hard.

PERSONAL | Let's go to the beach!

Yesterday I went biking to the beach Scheveningen. It is a few kilometres away from my house and since the weather was so nice and I needed to work on my tan, my friend and I decided to do the journey. We took our cameras with us and I decided to film a little bit. At first I wasn't sure if I wanted to edit it and show it to you guys since my filming was really crappy (I couldn't see a thing on my camerascreen because of the sun glare) but I was curious of how a concept I had in my head would look like.. So I made the very first I ate noodles for breakfast video! I don't really think you could categorize this as a 'vlog' but oh well. When I get better at not being so awkward in videos I'll post some more! The youtube account is: I ate noodles for breakfast. It still is under heavy maintenance the Youtube channel but I promise you that it will be awesome :)
I hope you like the little video I made! Tomorrow I'm planning to bike to Scheveningen again but with a different friend, so expect more beachy pictures soon!

OOTD & HAUL | No mam.. I'm not a gardener

H&M denim dungarees, New Look white top
Yesterday I found this awesome dungarees at H&M and it was on sale for 20euros! Couldn't get better than that right? It's actually a bit too baggy and too long, but I just rolled it up and worked with it. I have so many ideas to style this with! Crop tops, sweaters, striped shirts and you can even style with one strap. I thought of doing a lookbook of the different styles but wednesday is laundry day. So most stuff were still in the laundrybin. Would be cool though to do one.

ootd | Comfy summer

Zara white sweater, Zara grey jean skirt, Geox white leather sneaker
Recently I am dressing really basic and as comfy as possible. When I saw this lightweight sweater at Zara for only 10euros I had to have it! It reminded me of the slouchy sweater Claire Marshall always uses and she's such a fashion/beauty inspiration of mine. Go check her out. Anyways I'm sitting my brother's house right now as he'll be on holiday and decided to use his place for the photoshoot. I didn't bring my own laptop so I used his to edit the photos.. The colors that come out of the screen is wayy different than on my own, so I don't know how it will look like and on top of that there's no Photoshop . Hope it's still okay!

OOTD | Cruising the streets

H&M crop top, Monki high waisted pants, Geox white leather sneakers, Casio Watch, Arbo cruiser
This summer you'll be seeing me a lot with this cruiser of mine that I just got! I've been wanting a longboard for quite some time now and finally decided to get this Arbo cruiser one. It's quite small for a longboard and harder to learn for a beginner. But I think I'll be using this more often since I can bring it with me all the time. The outfit is not really inspiring because I was just skating in the neighbourhood and was quite positive I would fall on my butt several times (In the end I fell only once).

INSPIRATION | Little people in the city

I still had a 20euro voucher for the American Book Center, since I'm kinda a cheapskate I usually buy books only if I know they are worth it, otherwise I just read them online (ebooks). And I find photography, illustrations books totally worth it. So I bought this funny book by an artist who take pictures of random things and put little toy people around it. It just bring joy into your daily life and make you see things you won't see. What if such little people really do exist and we're giants who constantly put them in danger? We're monsters.

ootd | Sparkle up your summer!

Club L sequined bra, Primark top, H&M shorts

First day of summer break feels like summer already! And what better way to celebrate it with some sparks? I'm wearing the sequined bra I got from my friend and paired it with a flowy top from Primark, since the weather is so hot this week. This summer is going to be a different than usual. My plan this time is to work on myself and become the best of me (yeah i know cheesy right?), but I do believe I need to grow up and understand who I am, what I want to become and basically just to know what I want with my life, now that I'm 21 and on my last year of my bachelor. In terms of health (who's in with me to shed some of that extra pounds?), to work on my drawings (eventhough I study industrial design, you'd be surprised at how little time I put in drawing these days) and designing/sewing skills (The last time I properly touched a sewing machine was probably in my junior year of high school) .. I miss doing all of that. So lots to do in the summer! So do you have any plans for the summer?

HAUL | My conscience is eating me..

Zara sequined stripes &  flowers crop top, Bershka shoes with transparant heel, Club L sequined bra (from Nelly.com)

Yes, i know I bought some more stuff in sale.. I just couldn't leave this crop top at Zara for only 19euros and the shoes as well. They have a transparant heel to it, so different and the bra.. I've wanted these sooo bad after I've seen it on Hannelli, it was so beautiful, especially for in the summer and now I own on myself. This one was a present from a friend by the way, so it doesn't really count as a new purchase.. right?

Anyways, I cleaned out my closet, I think a month ago? But haven't got rid of them. I usually just throw them in a container specially for old clothes that go to the salvation army or the 'Leger des Heils' as they would call it here in the Netherlands. When I wanted to get rid of them, I remembered the H&M conscious ad. You could hand in bags of old clothes at your local H&M and get 15% voucher. What a deal! H&M will recycle the clothes for you to use the textile for new clothes. So my sister helped me and we brought four bags and got 2 vouchers each. . We still have a lot of bags left.. Eventhough I'm really happy with my vouchers, I am really skeptical about doing this. I remember, I think three years ago, an article about bags full of H&M clothes with holes in them (on purpose), in front of a H&M store. They destroyed leftover clothes. The reason for it is as I read on Systemsofexchange.com is that

if they donate the clothes to a discount retailer like Goodwill, customers will be less willing to pay the full price at their stores, or they’ll try to return the clothes for cash, or they’ll lose brand loyalty if they see homeless people wearing sweaters with that logo.

H&M claims that this would be a one time happening, but who could really claim that they won't? So my concern here is that when I hand in my old clothes, who could say that they won't do this filthy business again? Isn't it a bit controversary? If they're so concerned about the environment and being conscious, why don't they just deliver the leftover clothes to charity or recycle the leftover clothes themselves instead of leaving it in the garbage destroyed? But then again, if I knew that this has been going on.. Why do I even bother buying things there? And this goes for every mega-chain stores, why bother? I haven't made up my mind yet. My hopes goes for it to be true what H&M claims, that this stuff is over and they really do contribute to the environment and not only saying they do. I guess that I want to believe that such a mega-chain could exist.

HAUL | Sale obsessed

Pull & Bear sweatshirt, Pull & Bear necklace

Mango necklace, Zara jacket

A few items I bought in the sale.. It's not really representative of what I actually bought in the sales.. I seriously think I need to stop buy stuff, but just a quick shot of my favorite items.
