HOW TO | Homemade Feel Good Tea!

At this time of the year where transition between the warm and cold weather is quite significant, especially in the Netherlands, it's quite easy to fall ill. Like having a cold, the flu or maybe you just feel less energized because of the cold and gloomy weather. Luckily for me, I've passed the cold a few weeks earlier and that's mainly because of this homemade tea!

I've learned to make this tea from my brother. I really don't know where he got it from or maybe he came up with the idea himself, but I thought I'd share this "Feelgood" tea with you guys! Because sharing is caring and it really helps me get through the colder days.

The spices that are used for this tea are mint leaves, ginger, cinnamon, lime and honey.
I really like the combination of these spices and they're all beneficial for your health or if you feel ill! Mint leaves is good for your digestion and contains antioxidants as well.
Ginger helps clearing your sinuses if you have a cold and can give help you from nausea.
Cinnamon is loaded with antioxidants as well and may cut the risk of heart diseases amongst other health benefits.

What do you think of this recipe?
What is your remedy to endure the cold weather?

VLOG #1 | Foodtruck Festival

Okay, bear with me guys.. So as you can see I made my very first vlog! Since I'm planning to go to Taiwan for a little while, I thought it would be nice to do some vlogs there because I'll have some free time there. To practice a bit, I decided to vlog yesterday. I went to the Foodtruck festival in my neighbourhood with some friends of mine. I seriously have my respect for those who frequently vlog! When I was editing I can't believe at how many weird faces I constantly was making.. It certainly makes you more conscious of how you look on a daily basis. Ah well, I'll get used to it and hope to improve each time.

The only thing I was still contemplating about is vlogging in English or Dutch? I decided to do my first vlog in Dutch since it will be easier for me to get used to first. But I'll still might switch up.. I don't know, what do you guys think?

So onto the vlog itself, I went to the Foodtruck Trek Festival yesterday with some friends of mine. It is the 3rd one I've attended (Yes, I like food way too much). It was such a pleasure for my tastebuds but not so for my wallet but we still had a lot of fun. The atmosphere was just so fun even though it rained for a bit.

So how do you like the vlog? Should I continue to vlog in Dutch or switch it up in English?

TRAVEL | Barcelona Food Guide

It has been two days since I've been back from Barcelona and I've yet to recover from the trip. It has been a blast and a mini-holiday I won't easily forget. As I'm looking through the photos I've taken, I came to realise that most of the pictures are either of food or random shots of locals minding their own business. I don't know if it's because I'm obsessed with food and the people I was with are as well, but food played a big (important) part of the trip. There even wasn't enough time to eat at all the places I've wanted, but I managed to compile a little 'Barcelona Food Guide'. It consists places I thought are worth a visit if you ever decide to visit Barcelona in the near future.

Before you go any further, I'm planning to do a 'Barcelona haul' since I've been doing some sale shopping there.. So stay tuned for that as well!

Personal | My love for food trucks

If you follow me on instagram, you would already know how much I love food. I don't like to label myself as a 'foodie' but I do like to get extraordinarily excited when it comes to trying out new places/food. So you can probably guess how wild I got from all these food trucks that are finally coming to the Netherlands (at least in the big cities). They even got a few trucks on my campus, which is so bad for my wallet and waistline. Anyway, these pictures were taken at a Food Truck Festival TREK in The Hague a while ago. But I was/still am obsessed with these food, that I occasionally look back to the pictures. It was such a good time, with good food, music and people! Can't wait to go to a similar event again.

personal & food | People who love to eat are always the best people

First of all, if you haven't eaten yet I'm sorry for showing you guys this beautiful meal of art with perfectly sliced beef, fresh and colourful vegetables.

I love taking pictures and I love food, so taking pictures of food takes my loving to a whole new level. And so I would like to present to you my new favourite place to eat without feeling guilty! It's called 'Greenbowl' located in The Hague, Netherlands. I like to call it a saladbar and I think it's one of the first ones in The Netherlands (at least in the Hague). You can order from a menu or create your own salad. The best part is that the toppings/fillings for your salad are unlimited. They have all these superfoods, like goji berries and such as special toppings as well. And how cute are those boxes they serve the salads in! The price ranges from 5euros to 12euros depending on if you want meat, chicken or an omelette with it. I had a small box with beef and I man was I stuffed. You'd be surprised at how fast you actually feel stuffed.

If you're in the neighbourhood of the Hague, you should definitely try it out!
You won't regret it, the owners are nice and the place has a cute atmosphere.
You can check their facebook here for more information!

Are you a salad person?

Personal | Bike store or coffee house?

Where to fix your bike better than at Lola's? This awesome place it's a bike / coffee house. You can let them fix your bike and drink yummy coffee or just drink some coffee and eat cake! Except for that you can buy clothes, bikes and books as well. I love the interior and the concept of this store, more pictures are seen below!

I hope I can follow 'Retail design' for my minor next year, so I can design awesome concepts for storesas well! It was numerus fixus so fingers crossed!

This post is solely dedicated to this 'oh my god, I can die happily now' burger. Yesterday I had this burger for brunch at a place called Swags. Yes, I know.. What the hell with that name? But this burger totally made it up.

Food | Jolly jelly time

I haven't made these yummy treats for a while. Yes, it was necessary to make an awkward face while making this. It's called konnyaku jelly, I thought with the nice spring weather the jelly was appropriate! These were mango flavored jelly.
What's your favorite warm weather treats?

Some kicks and boba galore

Yesterday was one of my rare day off, because of good friday. I decided to head out early to make full use out of it! So I met up with my friend, Roz, to the cinema in the morning. We went to see the Host, which was an 'okay' movie, better than Twilight definitely. The actrice was actually quite good. Only some unlogical 'it doesn't make any sense' and 'too cheesy to make it believable' scenes.

And then we went shopping. I finally bought new sneakers! I've been contemplating to buy these Nike janoski's but never got to try them on until yesterday, because it isn't available in regular sneakershops. I wanted to buy black suede with white nike logo on, but it wasn't in stock anymore.. I'm still planning to buy it though.

Next, we went to drink some boba, or bubble tea as they call it. It was a small shop/cafe where you can sit in front of the window and 'find wally'. Roz and I spent quite some time entertaining ourselves with Wally. If you haven't heard of the hype boba, you'd better find some because it's quite booming! It's a drink, usually tea with some fruit or milky flavour where they add tapioca balls (original) or some popping boba, balls which will pop in your mouth with some fruit liquid.
If you live in the Netherlands and you want to try it out, there's a good one in Rotterdam called 'yoyo' and they sell froyo as well! (Now that here is my favorite snack) And if you want to drink boba while finding Wally, you can go to '8tea5' in the Hague.

Anyways that's it for my little rambling and I wish you a happy easter in advance!

ootd & food | Sunday church and food wahala

1. Mango leather jacket  2.Zara skirt  3. Pull and Bear shirt
So sunday is church day and this is the outfit that I wore.. for like a minute. Because I couldn't stand the cold! If you're living in the Netherlands, or somewhere near, you would know. What were you wearing in this cold?

After church I went to an annual 'festival' celebrated by Indonesian embassy called the 'Pasar Malam Indonesia'. It's basically a festival where you can eat the whole day long and no one will blame you.
Here's some quick shots of the festival.  I didn't managed to eat a whole lot but it still was yummy.

Personal | 'VANDAAG' is the place to be

I just went to the most awesomest place in the Netherlands concerning food.. It's called 'VANDAAG' which means 'today' in English. It's an international buffet where there's all kinds of foods available! There is food of the Asian, Western, European culture. I'm so bummed out though that I didn't take more pictures of the amazing place. Just look at those lamps! the decor of the whole place was incredible.. and the fooood. There were so many good food and desserts.

If you happen to live/stopping by in the Netherlands, you should definitely visit Utrecht.
