ootd | Chasing the sun

River Island crop top, Bershka shorts, Bershka cut-out boots
Time goes so fast! It's already August and I'm no way near ready to go back to uni. Since I didn't plan to go somewhere far this holiday, I decided to do fun things nearby. Which includes lots of fun with friends, food and festivals. Tomorrow will be 'Latin Village' music festival which I'm so stoked about! And I'll be heading out to Paris next weekend to go see Mickey Mouse and a few sightseeings. So lots of fun planned!

I feel like I keep apologising for the lack of posts, but I will make it up!

OOTD | Time to suit up!

Mango blazer, Unknown shirt, Seven Sisters jeans, Bershka brogues, Costes necklace, Zara bag

Fortunately the weather is quite nice despite the prediction of snow this week. So I decided to wear my brogues which I haven't got to wear a lot. These brogues are pretty awesome, it has a transparent heel to it!
Anyway, I wanted to buy this blazer a long time ago but was so glad I didn't because I got this on sale. I am seriously contemplating to never buy anything fully priced again. You can buy it here

Do you like how I styled the blazer? How would you style it?

Haul | 99 problems but a coat ain't one

Finally got some time to post my 99problems post, this time with some recently bought coats/vest or jackets. I seriously don't know how I got to this point where I bought all this. I couldn't resist the 'temporarily' H&M sale on the two pieces from the top. And I love how versatile and awesome the faux fur vest it. It can make an outfit 10 times more interesting! Definitely recommend this one. It's a bit longer than the one I already have. Considering buying one of these coats? All H&M coats/jackets are a bit bulky/oversized. So going a size down is definitely worth it.

Product haul | Got 99 problems but a shoe ain't one

The last two months has been crazy for my shoe 'collection' and my wallet. And I can add these Bershka pointy wedges to it. I liked the feminim style of these shoes since I've only been buying sneakers lately. And these were 46 euros, so why not eh?

I've been thinking of doing more of these sort of hauls posts, where you just collect similar items you've bought over the last months and called it "99 problems but a .. ain't one". Maybe I can shop less, because of it.. What do you think?

ootd | Floral Kimono

Primark floral Kimono, Primark highwaisted jeans, Zara sweater, Bershka wedge
What's the best feeling in the world? You probably have some jeans or pants laying around in your closet which are a size too small, but you still have that hope that one day you'll fit them (again). And when you do, you'll feel invincible and just plain ass awesome. I had the same feeling with these Primark highwaisted jeans. I accidentally bought a size too small and since I don't really live near a Primark and I "try" not to go that often, I just threw it in the far back of my closet.
Today, I tried them on again and suddenly it fitted! It wasn't intentional though, it's probably because I get screwed by public transportation everyday which forces me to bike about 8km to my uni back and forth. At least it did something good.

ootd | First real fall outfit

Vero Moda fur vest, Zara white shirt, Bershka grey jeans, Graceland laceup boots
I felt like wearing something more appropriate to the weather today.. My first real fall outfit. When I was in Antwerp my friend was searching for a fur coat/vest and that brought me back to my own old fur vest. I forgot I wanted one so bad a few years back and found this on at the Vero Moda, still not the perfect fur vest but getting there.. This one is a bit cropped so perfect for dresses and high waisted stuff. Will this be my fall/winter essential piece of this year? We'll see.

ootd & haul | Cherrywood

Nike air max thea, H&M jeans, Mango shirt, Bershka mint blazer

Finally! I bought these Nike knockouts. I've been contemplating for quite some time on which Nike sneaker to buy and every time I found one, it's sold out or my size is not available. So when I saw this pair, I knew I had to buy it asap before it's out of stock. You either love it or hate it, it is the air max with a more feminim twist to it, air max thea, and I love the fact that it's completely cherryred with a hint of mint. I can't wait to wear it more often and this was my first wear of it. I paired it with a mint blazer which matched the mint on my sneaks and painted my nails cherryred.. talk about matching. I bought mine at zalando. If you decide to buy one as well, don't forget to add a vouchercode to get 10% off! The one I used is "actiecode0013". This will work in The Netherlands till 11 october 2013.

ootd | braid, plaid & leather

H&M pleather jacket, Zara plaid shirt, Pull & Bear white shirt, Bershka dark grey jeans, Mango heels
I love the combination of plaid and leather, it gives a tough and edgy look to the outfit. I can't wait for fall the come! Finally being able to layer. And my hair is braided into a fishtail braid, because I'm really contemplating to cut my hair short.. So I'm trying all different kinds of hairstyles to refrain me from doing it. The last time my hair was short was a time I dodged all mirrors. Anyway that was then.. Maybe if I tried a different kind of short? Ohh we'll see

PS. woahh I just realized at how diverse my outfit is. It doesn't come often that I wear clothes from five different stores in one outfit.

PERSONAL | Moving on

Zara striped shirt, Bershka dark grey jeans
The last few days after the incident (read previous post about it) have been rough on me. I don't like to sleep in my own bedroom (just the thought of strangers snooping in my room, creeps me out), so I basically sleep on the couch. And I didn't really feel like taking ootd pictures or pictures in general, so that's explains my short absence. But despite this, I'm slowly moving on. A part of it is because of you guys! Who supported me and wished my family and me well. I'm so thankfull! And now I have the urge to pick my camera up. I couldn't take proper ootd pictures as I was already late for my date with friends but this is how I like to wear my shirts, a lazy tuck can make your outfit so much more interesting! And I love this shirt especially, the fabric is so nice and you can never go wrong with stripes. By the way, I wanted to try vlogging but it's so hard to do it right! Respect to the people who are so good at it! Maybe later, I'll get the hang of it.

OOTD | Going out for sushi

Zara jacket, Zara white sweater, Bershka grey skinny jeans, H&M metallic green heels
I've been craving for sushi the last few weeks and yesterday I finally got to eat some! The weather was a bit annoying as it's hot but still windy. So I decided to wear this lightweight jacket I recently got out of sale at Zara. Oh by the way, this is my first ootd video and I didn't really had a lot of time to edit but oh well you still see my outfit right?

HAUL | My conscience is eating me..

Zara sequined stripes &  flowers crop top, Bershka shoes with transparant heel, Club L sequined bra (from Nelly.com)

Yes, i know I bought some more stuff in sale.. I just couldn't leave this crop top at Zara for only 19euros and the shoes as well. They have a transparant heel to it, so different and the bra.. I've wanted these sooo bad after I've seen it on Hannelli, it was so beautiful, especially for in the summer and now I own on myself. This one was a present from a friend by the way, so it doesn't really count as a new purchase.. right?

Anyways, I cleaned out my closet, I think a month ago? But haven't got rid of them. I usually just throw them in a container specially for old clothes that go to the salvation army or the 'Leger des Heils' as they would call it here in the Netherlands. When I wanted to get rid of them, I remembered the H&M conscious ad. You could hand in bags of old clothes at your local H&M and get 15% voucher. What a deal! H&M will recycle the clothes for you to use the textile for new clothes. So my sister helped me and we brought four bags and got 2 vouchers each. . We still have a lot of bags left.. Eventhough I'm really happy with my vouchers, I am really skeptical about doing this. I remember, I think three years ago, an article about bags full of H&M clothes with holes in them (on purpose), in front of a H&M store. They destroyed leftover clothes. The reason for it is as I read on Systemsofexchange.com is that

if they donate the clothes to a discount retailer like Goodwill, customers will be less willing to pay the full price at their stores, or they’ll try to return the clothes for cash, or they’ll lose brand loyalty if they see homeless people wearing sweaters with that logo.

H&M claims that this would be a one time happening, but who could really claim that they won't? So my concern here is that when I hand in my old clothes, who could say that they won't do this filthy business again? Isn't it a bit controversary? If they're so concerned about the environment and being conscious, why don't they just deliver the leftover clothes to charity or recycle the leftover clothes themselves instead of leaving it in the garbage destroyed? But then again, if I knew that this has been going on.. Why do I even bother buying things there? And this goes for every mega-chain stores, why bother? I haven't made up my mind yet. My hopes goes for it to be true what H&M claims, that this stuff is over and they really do contribute to the environment and not only saying they do. I guess that I want to believe that such a mega-chain could exist.
