HAUL | Karl & CK sample sale + story about the red bag

As promised my Sample sale haul! I usually don't buy branded underwear or bikini, but since it's Calvins I couldn't resist. I think I'm good for the upcoming summer. Not really colorful but oh well. I love the details of the white bikini, with black linings with the brand name on it. I like the simplicity of it. The other bikini is a black and white one as well but is more graphic. And I just love the model of the bikini top. I also managed to get me some soft bras with the iconic elastic band, I didn't found them right away. It was on my third and fourth round. Unfortunately I couldn't find the iconic and well wanted underwear set but I'm still happy with these ones. The bikini sets are 17euro each, bra's 13euro and underwear 8euro. I also managed to find a bomberjacket from CK. I was hoping to find one and I did! Although I'm pretty sure it was placed in the wrong section and is supposedly for men but who cares? It had an original tag attached and was prized for 300 euro and I bought it for 50euro (score!). Finally, the winner for todays haul of the sample sale is this gorgeous bag from Karl Lagerfeld.

So what's the story behind this bag? When we arrived, I went straight to underwear section and the clothing section of CK.. I totally forgot there was a Karl section as well. Which I regretted because the accessories of Karl Lagerfeld are the best. I still went through everything and didn't find anything interesting.. Until we were about to go to the cash register. But my sister still wanted to try some shoes, so my mom and I sat near the shoes and bags section. A splash of red caught my eye through the mass of people as I was sitting on the bench, but it wasn't sitting on the rack but it was carried by a girl in her arms. I fell in love and I was so desperate to find myself one as well. I went to the racks but couldn't find another one. The girl was standing there with her friend hesitating wether to buy the bag because she wasn't so sure on how to style it. In my head I screamed 'Then give it to me!', but I stayed quiet and quietly moved where she was going. I then saw an older women holding the same bag in another color and the color was beige and kinda perfect too and I saw that she was hesistating as well. What's wrong with them? The bag is perfect! Anyway so I had my eyes on both people. I know you'd probably think why don't I just ask them that for the bag if they don't want it?
I don't know if I'm a bit weird or even a bit mean but if the roles are reversed and I was hesitating and someone was asking me the same question, I would probably buy the item. Because I would think that it's something worth having and that the item is really wanted by everyone. Who wouldn't like that? So I stayed put and continued to observe. Then everything happened so fast. The older women but the bag down, I grabbed it and then the other girl put it down as well at a different rack and I grabbed that one as well. Suddenly I had two bags in my hand. To buy both of them for myself is probably really irresponsible although I was contemplating it. My mom liked the beige one as well, so we both bought one! Since it was real leather, they were 90euro each. I tried to google the original retail price but couldn't find it. I only saw the bag on one german blog but not available for retail.

What do you think of this haul?

Sorry for the long story on the bag! But I really wanted to share this with you.

EVENT | Karl & CK sample sale

Last friday I went to the sample sale of Karl Lagerfeld & Calvin Klein. I just finished my exams and thought that it was okay to spoil myself a bit.. I haven't seen the sunlight the past week even though the weather was soo good to us. So when my sister got tickets, I couldn't resist. I've never been to a sample sale as well, so I thought it was a good time to start. I visited the sample sale on their first day open and went quite early, it was a 30-40 minute drive from my place to the sample sale, so it wasn't that far from my home. When you enter you get checked for the tickets and your ID and then you first go through the Calvin Klein section, which is the biggest section. Most of the items are from the 2014 collection which was a great surprise for me and the quality of the items are quite good as well.
The people there were pleasant, I haven't encountered women pulling on each other hairs (although I was almost about to.. which I will tell you later in the next post) and the people working there were really nice. I think I've heard about 5 announcements about founding stuff people have lost like their car keys, bank card or ticket. They don't mind you sorting throughout your stuff in the middle of the place and at the cash register the people there are also friendly and excited for your findings. So I had a quite good first experience for a sample sale and want to go to many more in the future!

Even though it was my first time, I managed to compile a little list of tips to go by when going to the next sample sale;

1. When you go there you can't wear anything of the brands from the sample sales and you can't bring any bags. So I suggest to wear something basic and simple and something with pockets to put your wallet and other necessities in.

2. Another thing you'd have to consider if you're going to a sample sale is that you probably won't have privacy if you want to try things out. There are fitting rooms but it's just one big open space for men and women. So I'd recommend wearing something under your clothes as well.

3. Go early. The fewer people there, the more chance you get to get your favourite pieces.

4. The items are (usually) not individually priced but are based on the type of garments, so if it's more beneficial to get something from the newer collection.

5. Be patient. It's really easy to get overwhelmed by the amount of items and garments around you..
I went to each section probably 5 times over and over again in an order. People will put back their stuff they don't want anymore and (I think they even refill the stock), so it's worth to visit sections more often.

6. Go without a mission. Of course it's good to have an idea already what you are 'hoping' to buy and done some research on their latest collections. But you can never predict what they are offering, so to not be disappointed on not finding the item, it's better to be openminded and just have fun!

I hope you the tips are useful for your own sample sale!
Have you ever been to one? If you have, for which brand was it?

I managed to get some stuff at the sample sale and will be showing it in the next post!

HAUL | Going on a combat!

 photo zaracombat.gif
ZARA leather combat boots
I've wanted some badass black combat boots for a while now, but couldn't fine one I really liked. I was going to buy just the basic H&M fake leather black boots for 30euros but they were sold out already. So my quest for the perfect combat boots was still there, until I saw these beautiful pair at the sale corner of ZARA. They went from 100euros to 30euros! And it is made out of real leather. What a bargain! I'm totally going to feel so badass wearing this. Can't wait to style them.

How would you style these combat boots?

HAUL | Back to basics with H&M

 Blazer 45EUR here
Wool sweater 12EUR
Tricot top 10EUR here
Legging 10EUR here
Rings 5EUR here

I'm obsessed with blazers at the moment and I'm really digging the 'minimalist' and basic style as well. Seems more mature and you can never go wrong with some nice basics. I especially like the soft colors of the whole ensemble that I just purchased online and the cheap prices aren't bad either. I'm planning to go to Primark before working on schoolproject tomorrow to get some socks

What do you think of my haul?

I'm planning to go to Primark before working on schoolproject tomorrow to get some socks, I'll probably gonna end up with a whole lot more. So expect some more haul-posts soon!

ootd | The ZARA skort

H&M jacket, ZARA skort, ZARA white sweater, H&M ankle boots
Now that 2013 is nearly ending, you have to make it count right? So when I saw 'the' Zara skort on sale I knew I had to buy it, because it was probably one of the fashion spring/summer trends of 2013. I don't even really remember who I've seen wearing it first, all I remember is that suddenly every girl wanted that skort. And I must confess I first didn't really wanted to give in but bloggers like SincerelyJules made it hard for me. For those who don't know what I'm talking about, these Zara skorts. That's probably why Zara decided to reintroduce the skort for the fall/winter collection 2013, since it was such a success. I like that instead of making it in a plain fall colour, they added the grey pinstripe model. Perfect for the fall/winter days.

Did you fell for the 'skort' trend? And what is your favourite fashion trend of 2013? Leave it in the comment box! I'd like to hear your opinion.

Haul | 99 problems but a coat ain't one

Finally got some time to post my 99problems post, this time with some recently bought coats/vest or jackets. I seriously don't know how I got to this point where I bought all this. I couldn't resist the 'temporarily' H&M sale on the two pieces from the top. And I love how versatile and awesome the faux fur vest it. It can make an outfit 10 times more interesting! Definitely recommend this one. It's a bit longer than the one I already have. Considering buying one of these coats? All H&M coats/jackets are a bit bulky/oversized. So going a size down is definitely worth it.

ootd | Hunger games and Victor Navorski

Last tuesday I went to the Hunger Games marathon at the cinema, they showed the first part followed by the latest one to premiere. The marathon ended at 02:30AM but it was so worth it. I've read the books before the first part was out, so I am quite a 'fan' of the books. I won't spoil the movie for anybody, because I think that's really one of the worst things you can do to a person. But they really did a great job (yet again) at filming it and it really didn't feel like I was watching something for more than 2 hours. So it's definitely worth to check it out! Also if you like reading, try the books as well.

As for my outfit, I wore this new skirt from H&M which got all wrinkled up (sorry about that) and paired it with my plaid blouse from Zara. The coat is from Zara that I got just recently on sale I think it was 30euros. But thanks to my brother I keep seeing Victor Navorski from The Terminal, which I've watched more than six times already because I just love the movie, when I'm wearing this coat. And he's not even wearing one in the movie! You can only see him in his suit most of the time. Although I love the movie, I don't really know if I want to be associated with it.

Anyway, this coat is one of a few coats/jackets I got recently.. A bit of ashamed. But at least you guys can look forward to a '99 problems' post soon.

Product haul | Got 99 problems but a shoe ain't one

The last two months has been crazy for my shoe 'collection' and my wallet. And I can add these Bershka pointy wedges to it. I liked the feminim style of these shoes since I've only been buying sneakers lately. And these were 46 euros, so why not eh?

I've been thinking of doing more of these sort of hauls posts, where you just collect similar items you've bought over the last months and called it "99 problems but a .. ain't one". Maybe I can shop less, because of it.. What do you think?

HAUL | Dunking sky high with my homies

Homies sweater (similar here), Nike Sky High Dunk (similar here)
Bought some new stuff.. again. I've been bad with my bankaccount this month. I bought yet another Nike pair. This time the sky dunk high, the ones with a wedge heel in it. I've been wanting one so bad, I was contemplating to buy this as well when I bought the Nike thea, see post here. So when I saw these shoes on sale at the 'Drie dwaze dagen' at Bijenkorf (for the Dutchies) for 85euro I had to buy it. 'Drie dwaze dagen' which means 'Three Crazy Days' are quite well known sale days for a Dutch warehouse, Bijenkorf. You usually see these shoes with purple laces on it, but I wasn't really feeling it so I exchanged it for the black ones which was included. And what about the Homies sweater? I've seen similar sweaters often but they're all quite expensive, so when I saw this one for 15euros. I thought why not? I can totally see me wearing this when I don't really feel like dressing up.

HAUL | 3 girls, 1 Primark & 5 paperbags

It's that time of the month again.. Primark. Primark is a place that whenever you go, you have to buy something even when you don't really need something. Last friday was that kind of day. I wasn't planning to buy a lot.. although I didn't have a budget. But I was like okay, I'll just buy a couple of sweaters.. That mission was accomplished indeed.. with a few other stuff. Anyway, I'm really happy with my purchases and was pleased with their fall/winter 2013 collection! Can't wait to wear them.

HAUL | Back to school/uni

A4 sketchbook 4euro, 14.8x22 sketchbook 3euro, Filemap 1euro, Stanleyknives 1euro, Highlight markers 2euro, 5x notebooks 3euro, Mini mechanical pencils 1euro, Nailpolish 2euro, Metal wire 1euro

So it's official.. Summer break is officially over and what better way to start this year fresh with some new school supplies? I found this new cute store in The Hague called 'Flying tiger'. It's a danish store for all kinds of stuff. They sell stationary, home stuff, makeup, bathroom stuff, games and so much more at a reasonable price. So it's definitely one of my favorite stores right now. I had to put a lot of stuff back into the shop because I had too many (unnecessary) things in my shopping basket.
You can check if there's a Flying tiger store near your home at tiger-stores.com or if you're from the Netherlands at flying-tiger.nl. You can check their assortment as well at the site as well.

If you've already been there, let me know what you think of it! And if you haven't, if you'd want to visit one.. I'd like to hear your comments about it.

PS.: So stupid of me, I didn't take a picture of the store outside.

New in | I see right through you

I went to Amsterdam the other day and bought these sunglasses at Monki. Eventhough summer's almost over and school is starting again, you can't have enough of sunglasses. I think they're pretty awesome. It has a big round shape and mirror glasses, what more can you wish for?

Back to school or uni.. I don't know what to think of. I just got a mail for my minor. I'll be going on an excursion to Antwerp and I need to bring a camera and a sketchbook.. Ahh I need to get my drawing skills up for it.

HAUL | My very first haul video

I'm so excited to show you guys my haul of the other day. I went to Rotterdam and bought some stuff at Primark, Zara & Dailyrush. Sometimes it's really hard to give you guys a clear view of the item I bought, so I thought a video would be easier and less time consuming.. Boy was I wrong. I have soo much respect for all those Youtube people who can talk so comfortably in videos. Anyway, I still am not satisfied of the way the video turned out to be, but I wanted to post this haul asap and I guess practice does make perfect. If you have any feedback/comments on the video, please do share. And any video suggestions are welcome!

The video takes forever to upload. I'm posting this while the video is uploading! So if you're unable to see the video, then you're a tad bit too early. You can take a look at the pictures I took from the haul while you wait for the video :). The prices of each item are shown in the video.
